Fellowships obtained through this open call are not considered employment, and fellows will not be eligible for severance pay or layoff benefits when the company concludes.Fellows are dedicated to spending their fellowship in collaboration with others, guided by a generous attitude, a critical eye, and a heap of kindness.They will prioritize and choose fellows for the 2022-2023 academic year who have a track record of contributing to public and intellectual dialogues in their field of study.Fellows may start, restarting, push forward, question, or pivot from their current jobs. Many fellows wear numerous hats and pursue multiple interests at the intersections of their abilities.Some fellows are practitioners who have made their careers outside of academia, such as engineers, entrepreneurs, lawyers, policymakers, journalists, activists, educators, and others from various fields and professions.Please keep in mind that they will not be accepting students for the fellowship cohort in the academic year 2022-2023. They invite post-doctoral researchers and professors to apply for the 2022-2023 academic year. Fellows come from different disciplines and life experiences. The Berkman Klein Center welcomes applications from scholars, practitioners, innovators, engineers, artists, and others dedicated to understanding and advancing the public good.They invite submissions from people who believe that spending a year as a fellow in our diverse community will help them accelerate their efforts and contribute to their ongoing personal and professional growth.Berkman Klein fellowship anticipates issuing proposals to at least three externally supported candidates for 2022-2023.The Berkman Klein Center will supplement this fund with a $10,000 stipend to cover housing, travel, and research expenses.These applicants bring their funding, such as a grant, a scholarship, a sabbatical, or something similar.They are providing three fully supported fellowships for 2022-2023.They will undertake a mid-year review with fellows to offer input, review engagement, and check in on research progress, and if scholars are on track, they will clear the way for financing for the second half of the year at this stage.Half of the stipend is guaranteed to last the entire year.Fellows nominated through the open call for applications are eligible for a stipend of $72,000 each year, plus an additional $5,000 for personal or research-related costs.The Berkman Klein Center has a limited amount of funds to sponsor fellows.
There are two methods for individuals to be considered for the fellowship program through the open call: those who apply for financing from the Berkman Klein Center and those who apply with external funds.
